Billboards.

Billboards don't cost you much, do they?

You are driving, and they are just there. You can drive right past them.

Each one, though, costs you some attention, maybe a tiny bit.

It might also bring up some emotions and desires. That's what it is designed to do, after all.

But it's momentary. Soon, it will pass.

The thing, though, is that they are never-ending. Each one gets immediately followed by another one. And another one.

There are billboards everywhere now, not just the road.

And they are costing you more and more every time.

In all this noise, it's easy to forget where you were driving to in the first place.
