The new desktop.
We had the physical files and folders, a relic of the 70s, which we still see in some universities and government offices.
Before things moved digital. A big shift then that most people resisted.
How can I trust files I can't touch? What if this breaks down? We have always done it this way! Why fix something that isn't broken?
Then came the cloud. And the same arguments.
And now, the game is changing faster than it has ever done.
It's likely you are saying, "No, not for me. I will do things the way I have always done."
Well! Up to you!
But if history is something to learn from, there is no advantage in being a laggard.
A different post but I really want to make this point...
Claude Code is the new desktop.
Don't wait. Install it. Use it. Play with it.
Change models from Fable Ultramode to Haiku Low and see what happens.
Make it do things you are sure it would fail at and see what happens.
It is not about whether it can replace you.
It is about whether you are ready to work in the future.
Because it is already here.
