The two-week test.

I don't like the word detox. It has gained a cultural connotation that takes away its real meaning.

Let's reframe it as an experiment.

Take one thing (or two) that might not be bringing joy to your life right now.

It might be something you eat (or drink), something you browse or spend time on, or even someone you interact with.

Not too many. Just pick one or two that seem to affect you most adversely, supposedly.

Go on a two-week fast. Eliminate the 1-2 things completely. If you slip, it's okay. Just recommit to your fast.

And then, after two weeks, revisit them. Once.

Your body will tell you, not just with food but with people and even apps.

It will give you signs you can't ignore.

The reason we need detox is because we get used to the signs of "tox".

Just because slow poison doesn't kill us immediately doesn't mean that it doesn't kill us.
