Who's it for? What's it for?
When we show up as a professional, whether we are doing work as a freelancer or building a product, there are two questions we need to answer before anything else.
Who's it for? and What's it for?
If we are unsure, we tend to answer them as:
- Anyone who'd hire me or buy from me.
- Anything they'd like me to do.
And the answer to these questions, almost always, is "no one" and "nothing".
So, we have a choice. To be specific.
To say, this is for people who believe this, this, and this. And want this, this and this. And this is what they will get when they engage with my work.
When you answer who's it for? and what's it for? every other decision will follow from there.
