Chemistry or maths?

I hated the chemistry class in school. No matter how much I tried, I couldn't find anything interesting in it. But I had to get good marks. So, I worked. Worked hard to get through chemistry.

Maths was different. I loved doing maths. Teaching it to others. Learning something new. Taking risks. Making mistakes. I never had to work hard to do maths. Maths was play. Including the tough nut problems, the ones that didn't let me sleep at night.

Now, I can choose to tell myself a story. A story where chemistry is the only way to succeed, to get where I want to get. I can work hard, and maybe by sheer perseverance, I can get myself to become mediocre-level good in it.

Or I can choose maths. And play.

What would you choose?

PS. Later in life, I started finding neurobiochemistry quite interesting. Not how the molecules were shaped, but how they affected our behavior. And maths doesn't engage me as much as learning about human behavior does.
