Something new.

What's your reaction when you learn something new, something that shifts the way you think?

It's unlikely that it is, "Oh yes, that makes sense. Let me change how I think!"

Rather it would be something like, "This does not seem right. And even if it is, how would it be helpful? What's the harm in continuing the way I do things."

The useful way might be worth giving a try.

It can sound like, "This feels uncomfortable to me. What if we try it and see what happens. I have done that earlier and I am better for trying it."

Can we learn to embrace the incompetence we feel when we learn something new?
